There is no mention of him as a journalist in the lead. Suddenly he is a journalist, and a lieutenant. So did he receive the award for being a journalist or a lt.? Pay more attention to your word usage. A member of the prestigious Clan Murray, probably is better phrasing. Or a notable member of the prestigious... What are the Guides? They appear out of nowhere in one of the sections. What is the context around all this? Auntieruth55 (talk) 18:31, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've tweaked this article as I have The Times obituary of this guy. He wasn't really a journalist, though he was a war ("special") correspondent for The Times: at the time it was customary to ask serving army officers to telegraph reports back to London. (Churchill most notably did this.) I removed the bit about Clan Murray as Dunmore wasn't the clan chief (that was the Duke of Atholl). I've also removed some Americanisms: we don't talk about graduating from school (only university) and I've replaced the US usage of the military with army.  Roger Davies talk 08:00, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

'more commonly known by the courtesy title Viscount Fincastle' This is statement is a bit misleading: he would have been known as Viscount Fincastle until he inherited the title of Earl of Dunmore - he would not have continued to have been known as Viscount Fincastle afterwards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexmb (talkcontribs) 14:36, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
