Beer[edit]

Alex is not drinking root beer. And there's no "mug-like-object". It is a completely black sprite. Please refer to the Sega.jp article regarding Alex Kidd in Miracle World. IIRC it talks about the rice ball. The Root Beer is a myth! Marc K 20:21, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I just added a picture that was already in another article. 64.111.156.148 00:16, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm... I'm familiar with this game, I will make it a personal project. --Ifrit 08:22, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is certainly one of the most underrated titles to appear during the 8-bt era and I feel that it would have been a big hit if it had the exposure that the NES could provide. Super Mario Brothers was good, but I felt that Alex Kidd was far superior. Variety in graphics and gameplay were well developed including vehicles and different worlds (that weren't palette swaps). It's unfortunate that the sequels were not as good and even felt as if they were from a different game series, with the Alex Kidd character inserted.

Though I played Miracle World far more, I always enjoyed playing Shinobi World a bit more. Anyway, I agree that this game deserves more than this lowly article, that's why I was planning on expanding it a bit (maybe include info about the different levels, monsters, bosses, items, ect. I haven't played it for years and years, but I have it on an emulator (legally as I technically still own the game.. even though my SMS II would probably barely function after this time :P ) Ifrit 06:29, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

translation[edit]

Is this a good translation or would Wonder World be better? And is Janken in Latin or English? -lysdexia 23:30, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Wonder World? Where'd you get that from? It's always been Miracle World, as far as I know. And Janken is Japanese, actually - the full phrase is Jan-Ken-Pon which basically refers to the game of Rock Paper Scissors. H Hog 12:15, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I told you, the translation. Is the J sound as in Latin or in English? -lysdexia 02:59, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
The "J" sound in the words "Janken"/"Janken pon" when spoken in Japanese is pronounced the same as the 'J' sound in the words John, giant, or joke in English. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.219.69.220 (talk) 12:56, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alex Kidd on everyvideogame.com[edit]

I have a little problem. There is a page named www.everyvideogame.com where you can play every old video games from Sega Master System and from the old Nintendo-NES and so on. Well, I tried to play Alex Kidd in Miracle World and I noticed that this game has been removed. What a pitty? Well, is are there also other pages where I can play or download Alex Kidd in Miracle World (the Sega Master System-version)? Morris Munroe 19:45, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest downloading an emulator. It runs better then a Java browser window, for one thing. And you can use a joystick if you have one. Here's a few useful articles for more info on how to directly play Sega Master System games on your PC;

-- Console emulator -- MEKA -- ROM image

It's up to you to find an actual ROM image of Alex Kidd, though; but feel free to contact me on my talk page or something if you need more help. --H Hog 23:20, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Better still wait till it comes to virtual console & download it for 500 points & at least you wont be contrubiting to companys to be forced to shut down because of piracy . Richardson j (talk) 23:08, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Really Richardson? I'm all for Virtual Console or counterparts before anything grey or black in morality, but that's being melodramatic thinking Sega will shut down from the piracy of a near 30 year old game. If anything, their bad handling of Sonic The Hedgehog since 1994 will bankrupt them.

Programmer/Artist info[edit]

There was an edit on the 4th April I have manually reverted. It added a programmer (and artist) to the info box who is known for Phantasy Star and the Sonic games, that I believed might be doubtful as the programmer of this game. The edit had no source or explanation. I have reverted it and set the programmer to Papa Kouichi as per the following sources: http://www.mobygames.com/game/sega-master-system/alex-kidd-in-miracle-world/credits http://segaretro.org/Alex_Kidd_in_Miracle_World

Alex Kidd in Miracle World - 2[edit]

There is a homebrew of Alex Kidd in Miracle World 2. I wonder if we can add this?
