Same person who is a canoer?[edit]

Is this the same person who competed as a canoer at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona? Chris (talk) 13:43, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

yes he is, and he is croat, not serbian —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.2.32.160 (talk) 01:24, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He is a ethnic Serbian born in Bosnia, as attested to by his numerous interviews recently referenced in the main article.LRD NO (talk) 17:16, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes LRD NO, no doubts about that. He was a Red Star Belgade fan, his brother fought in the Army of Republika Srpska (a faith he could have had if his father had decided to send his brother abroad instead of him) and he lived in Serbia for a while. The text says he played in Serbia in the second league, it would be great if we knew the club he played with. FkpCascais (talk) 14:16, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

International record[edit]

According to the Football Association of Singapore, the ASEAN Football Federation and the Asian Football Confederation, Đurić holds an international record of 53 appearances and 24 goals:

  • Đurić's final tournament was the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup. In the press release by the FAS and the accompanying squad list for the tournament, Đurić was listed as having 46 caps and 23 goals as of 21 November 2012. He made seven appearances and scored one goal during the tournament, retiring post-tournament with a total of 53 caps and 24 goals. This was further supported by the AFF,[1] the AFC,[2] (p. 35) and a major local newspaper, The Straits Times.[3]
  • A FIFA article mentions that Đurić has 27 goals in 54 appearances.[4] FIFA, however, does not keep records of player appearances, as shown by the disclaimer on their search page.
  • While there are other references[5][6] mentioning the FIFA record, the consensus reached at the WP:FOOTBALL discussion was that the FAS-AFF-AFC record was more suitably backed by better sources. A decision was made to list the FAS-AFF-AFC record, with a footnote explaining the difference stated in the FIFA article. Other international appearances were not recognised by any of the governing bodies mentioned above.

Changes were made to reflect the community consensus regarding this topic. Do not amend the player's international record without further WT:FOOTBALL discussion. Thank you. LRD 06:14, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
