dates puzzle[edit]

John of Albret, son of Alain, became king of Navarre by his marriage with Catherine of Foix. Their son Henry II, king of Navarre, was created duke of Albret and peer of France in 1550 before he was born in 1553.

Prenatal ennoblement is rare, but one can reasonably read this as meaning that, when Catherine and Jean were married, the then king of France issued a patent to the firstborn son of the marriage. Okay. The next problem is that Catherine and Jean died in 1516–17. (Henry's article is no help.) —Tamfang (talk) 20:09, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's called vandalism. Someone added the nonsense, "before he was born in 1553", since the Henry II of Navarre article states he was born in 1503! --Defensor Ursa 20:54, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
