Hmm[edit]

Quotes but no citation? This article is a bit like a fan page. The english is insolitous as well.--Josh Rocchio 02:30, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The English is what?? Lion King 14:47, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Albert Lee drinks Guinness - Albert Lee is God!

ALOL! He does and you're not wrong there mate! Lion King 15:58, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Especially when he visits Ireland!!! What a great guitarist - seen him in Dublin several years ago. Cheers. ww2censor 16:01, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, makes one wonder why Elvis Presley is a "noted" guitarist and Albert isn't. Lion King 22:40, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Who is it that says Elvis Presley is a "Noted" guitarist then? "The Deaf Chimpanzies Elvis Fan Club"? Albert Lee is the greatest guitarist I've ever heard - strike me dead with a limp Mars bar if I'm lying! Vera, Chuck & Dave 20:06, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I will not strike you dead with "limp Mars Bar" (lol) I agree 100%! Cheers, Lion King 20:22, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mr Telecaster reference, etc.[edit]

I thought you might come up with something on this one but did not include that reference myself as it too comes from an encyclopaedia, but it is better than nothing. BTW this still needs at least a paragraph or so of Hogan's Heroes info to be added. Do you have anything besides the band website? Cheers ww2censor 15:36, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not at the moment, but will search around 'til I can come up with it. All the best, Lion King 20:10, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Got it - it was in the eircom.net link! Cheers, Lion King 23:22, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template[edit]

Having added the guitartist template, I wonder if anyone know the record label that Albert has recorded for, so these can be added. ww2censor 04:24, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Diamond Records, A&M Records, MCA, Heroic Records, there's got to be lots more, but they're the labels in my collection.. Lion King 16:37, 30 August 2006 (UTC)P.S That's Albert Lee and Albert Lee & Hogans Heroes, Not including session work of course Lion King[reply]

Virtuoso[edit]

Virtuosity is one of those POV terms that, when stuffed into the lead paragraph, reduce the page from being an encyclopedia article to being a page out of a cheap teen music magazine. In Albert's case the term is used in a much more encyclopedic way(actually cited!!! how rare is that!). Plus it's in a more appropriate section. All guitarist articles(no matter how fast/skillful they are) shouldn't have any fancruft/POV/peacock terms....at least not in the lead paragraph. Anger22 16:52, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair point, no probs with that. Cheers, Lion King 16:57, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

YouTube links[edit]

This article is one of thousands on Wikipedia that have a link to YouTube in it. Based on the External links policy, most of these should probably be removed. I'm putting this message here, on this talk page, to request the regular editors take a look at the link and make sure it doesn't violate policy. In short: 1. 99% of the time YouTube should not be used as a source. 2. We must not link to material that violates someones copyright. If you are not sure if the link on this article should be removed, feel free to ask me on my talk page and I'll review it personally. Thanks. ---J.S (t|c) 07:52, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Attempt made to wikify article[edit]

I have tried to wikify the article and I think I have set out a reasonable skeleton. It needs more work, but I'm not sure what further to do. Respectfully, SamBlob 05:45, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Seems coincedental that Eddie Cochran was born in Albert Lea. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.221.164.69 (talk) 11:37, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Guitar Collection[edit]

Section talks about how despite his reputation as a Telecaster player his signature model has two humbuckers. Which is partly true - there is a version with two humbuckers but Ernie Ball Music Man also offers a version with three single coils in a Strat-like configuration (as seen on the photo on this page) as well as a now-discontinued version with three P-90 style pickups. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:878C:3600:6C79:33EA:4B5E:601A (talk) 04:35, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
