Expansion of the article[edit]

I just created the draft of this article because I believe this is a very important topic for the history of the Albanian people and the western Balkans as a whole. There is information about this topic on various articles, but it is very limited and scattered. Even this draft needs to be further expanded, and some improvements on existing material may be necessary. Ahmet Q., Durraz0, Maleschreiber, Iaof2017, Βατο, Botushali, I noticed you are regular contributors to articles dealing with Albanian history, so I would invite you reivew the current draft and help expanding and improving it into a finalized article. Çerçok (talk) 12:19, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good! Durraz0 (talk) 12:28, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Çerçok: I will do a review of the draft on Friday. A first suggestion has to do with the title. Most ethnic groups in the Ottoman Empire were both part of it and revolted against it at times. I think that the titles Albanian revolts and rebellions in the Ottoman Empire is a better reflection of the political situation.--Maleschreiber (talk) 13:37, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Çerçok, I would also suggest to undertake a name change as proposed by Maleschreiber above but otherwise I'm definitely in. I've recently become more interested for that topic and wanted to improve other articles as well such as in their structure and so on. Thank u! Iaof2017 (talk) 15:41, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fantastic work thus far, Çerçok. I will definitely help to add to this article. Great initiative you’ve taken here! Botushali (talk) 03:55, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edits:

  • The local Albanian nobility had been largely neutralized as actors in their own right, having to choose between fleeing, losing all property and privileges, or accepting Ottoman suzerainty -> The local Albanian nobility either fled the country or adapted to the new conditions of Ottoman rule
  • The results of Albanian resistance movements during this time ranged from complete defeat to victories that would force the Ottomans to important concessions in policies regarding taxation, arm-bearing, military recruitment, local autonomy, etc. -> Armed rebellions were frequent in Albanian territories and they were usually combined with political ascension of local elites in the Ottoman hierarchy as a means to increase the rights of Albanian groups

General comment:

  • Try to write the events and their historical context. --Maleschreiber (talk) 22:44, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Çerçok: Has there been any progress towards finishing the draft? This could be a very interesting article when it is finished.--Maleschreiber (talk) 04:10, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Draft Progress[edit]

Hey Çerçok, just curious as to whether or not you intended to submit this for review? It looks good thus far and most definitely can be expanded on with time. Very important article to have! Botushali (talk) 10:12, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am waiting for a few articles to reach a more balanced form first, then I intend to re-edit here before submitting for review. Çerçok (talk) 22:19, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
