His brother[edit]

I removed the following: He is the younger brother of the rock promoter Bill Curbishley[citation needed]. until it's been verified. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chivista (talkcontribs) 20:19, December 13, 2006

It is true —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.45.197 (talkcontribs) 20:05, February 11, 2007

I've read that he used to help his brother out when he was promoting The Who at The Valley in the 70s. The article was probably in the The Observer if anyone can be bothered to look it up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.221.133.211 (talkcontribs) 16:21, February 27, 2007

I've added a reference for this from Curbishley's autobiography --Mas 18 dl 12:21, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've added another reference to a Telegraph.co.uk article. -- Malcolmxl5 19:59, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Important![edit]

While the article is very imformative about the other clubs Charles has played for it dose not offer much in the explanation of Birmingham City and local rivals Aston Villa perhaps more information could be added to this page when he pkayed for the clubs respectivley? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.40.249.80 (talkcontribs) 17:49, October 24, 2006

Charles??? But yes, more about Alan's playing career would be good.... -- Malcolmxl5 19:43, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

explain hoiw h e got the name alan?[edit]

I would like t know —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hussey ward (talkcontribs) 14:28, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Llewelynn was Charles's grandfather's name. Charles changed it to Alan because he thought it would be an easier prononunced, more common name. Charles spoke of this on 2 November 2008 on his appearance on Match of the Day 2 on BBC Two. He also spoke of managerial career and the long throw-in senation that is Rory Delap (he is Irish by the way and has played with the national team 11 times and withdrawn from many more squads due to injury and will not be representing England as it is against the rules of FIFA to represent two different countries). --86.45.218.36 (talk) 23:09, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Does he get any new job?[edit]

I haven't hear any news about him for a long time. --子房 (talk) 19:05, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He is in a legal dispute with West Ham over compensation for when he left the club and I guess it's unlikely he'll take up another job until that's sorted. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 23:23, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Playing position[edit]

No mention of what position he played. I don't know either - could someone add it in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.185.172.48 (talk) 17:58, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Photograph[edit]

Surely there must be a better photograph available than this? This one is terrible. It appears to be looking at him through metal bars with his eyes closed or looking gloomily downwards. Peteinterpol (talk) 06:31, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As the taker of this photograph I can say he is looking through metal railings around the car park at Upton Park and looking down (signing an autograph for a fan). Can't remember him being gloomy and was always willing to chat. Not by any means the best photo but until another becomes available.........--Egghead06 (talk) 07:16, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Egghead06, no personal offence intended. I know from personal experience how hard it can be to get good copyright-free images for Wikipedia. Well done for taking it and getting it on when so many pages lack photos at all. Best wishes. Peteinterpol (talk) 15:04, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
