Samarinda International AirportAji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto Airport – Firstly, this airport is not an international airport. Secondly, other airports used the official name rather than common name. Example: Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the official name, but Jakarta International Airport is the common name. Yet the former is used as the article title Cal1407 (talk) 06:58, 25 May 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. Dekimasuよ! 11:39, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree. We do not use official name as an article title, we use the most commonly used name. And, Jakarta International Airport is NOT the common name.--Doraemon27 (talk) 07:19, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Doraemon27: Are you sure? I searched Google and Soekarno–Hatta International Airport produces 2,880,000 results, while Jakarta International Airport produces 19,000,000 results. DO you want me to screenshot it for you? Cal1407 (talk) 07:26, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, use Advanced Search to get the result. Use the exact word setting.
Soekarno Hatta International Airport: 1,030,000 (https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&as_q=&as_epq=soekarno+hatta+international+airport&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=)
Jakarta International Airport: 162,000 (https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&as_q=&as_epq=jakarta+international+airport&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=)--Doraemon27 (talk) 07:34, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Doraemon27: Try removing the quotation mark. It becomes like this:
Soekarno Hatta International Airport: 2,730,000 (https://www.google.co.uk/search?lr=&hl=en&as_qdr=all&ei=i70HW66LCMH6vgSLl6WgAQ&q=soekarno+hatta+international+airport&oq=soekarno+hatta+international+airport&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i67k1j0i7i30k1l2j0j0i7i30k1l2j0l4.1663.1663.0.1924.1.1.0.0.0.0.78.78.1.1.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.1.77....0.nimliGSFGro)

You still do not understand what I am saying. If you remove the quotation mark, it will search all these words, not this exact word or phrase.--Doraemon27 (talk) 07:45, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Doraemon27: Ah I see. My bad. Still though, I think it should be changed because the name "Samarinda International Airport" just sounds weird to me. I need other editors opinion on this. Thank you. Cal1407 (talk) 12:18, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds weird only for you, but for us on Wikipedia and internet, it is still the common name of this airport.--Doraemon27 (talk) 21:02, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Doraemon27: Okay, I have another proposal. Maybe change the article name to Samarinda Airport. The world "international" is not needed because the airport is not an international airport. How does that sound? Cal1407 (talk) 04:26, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The class of the airport is international: http://kaltim.tribunnews.com/2018/02/19/bandara-samarinda-baru-beroperasi-juni-warga-senang-tak-lagi-terburu-buru-berangkat --Doraemon27 (talk) 04:52, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It's ridiculous. "Samarinda International Airport" sounds weird to me as a local citizen and also for internet users in Samarinda, instead Indonesia. The thing so-called common name is a one-sided claim, let alone relying on search engine popularity. In writing, the airport isn't international yet. Orally, yes. Ezagren (talk) 06:36, 27 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Doraemon27: I agree to what Ezagren is saying. The name "Samarinda International Airport" just doesn't sounds right according to us local citizen. Cal1407 (talk) 04:04, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
According to English-language sources, "Samarinda International Airport" is the most commonly used. Once again, it sounds weird only for you, but for us on internet it is the commonly recognizable name.--Doraemon1992 (talk) 08:09, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Doraemon1992: I'm sorry, but we are not talking about the people of the internet, but the local citizen. Cal1407 (talk) 11:55, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
English-language sources more often mistaken and ignore local sources. If only the location of this airport is not exactly in Samarinda (a small portion of the airport area is in another administrative area, i.e. Muara Badak subdistrict), then you (Doraemon) "can't be saved". Ezagren (talk) 13:10, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Doraemon1992: It seems the voting has come to a conclusion. Its two support and one against. Therefore, this article should be moved as soon as possible.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Cal1407 (talkcontribs)
We are not talking about local citizen, we are talking about English Wikipedia (WP:COMMONNAME). And it is clear that there is no reason to move this article.--Doraemon1992 (talk) 02:44, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Doraemon1992: No reason? That can't be. This airport official name is Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto. And this airport hasn't officially become an international airport. Even some real international airports don't use "international" at the end of the airport's name. Then why New Samarinda Airport need to use "international" on its name? The fact that it's still a domestic airport. We will agree to add "international" if this airport really serves international routes, or at least has immigration areas. Three against one.— Preceding unsigned comment added by AirEnthusiast (talkcontribs)
Once again, we use the most commmonly used name as an article title (WP:COMMONNAME).--Doraemon1992 (talk) 05:03, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Doraemon1992: How could you say its common name when many people here never heard it before? Cal1407 (talk) 05:25, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It is clear that many people know what is common. You are the only one that never heard it before.--Doraemon1992 (talk) 05:53, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. There is no naming convention listed at WP:AT indicating we should defer to the official name in such cases, nor should we judge whether common (and in this case including semi-official) use of International in the name is correct. If other titles violate this, then they should be changed, but I'm skeptical that there will be many of them. Andrewa (talk) 19:51, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
