Sunlight hours: Questionable assertion with no reference[edit]

The article currently states: "Hong Kong is approaching the record of being the darkest city in the world with the least amount of sunlight hours, just after Edinburgh, Scotland.[3]" The few times I've looked at this article this statement has struck me as very unlikely and exaggerated. It is also not clear what the article means by "darkest city in the world", and why this would be in a section about visibility (which is indeed often low in Hong Kong). I updated the reference, which is no longer be available on the web, but is available in the Internet Archive. The reference does in part back up the previous sentence in this article, saying that the number of days with low visibility rose to 102 in 2005. But the years do not match, and the figure cited in the article for 1997 is 40 rather than 90. I have corrected these discrepancies. However, the reference contains no mention of Edinburgh or the words "dark" or "sunlight". I have indicated the need for a citation to back up this assertion.

Detailed records of solar radiation at Earth's surface are readily available, for example from the Hong Kong Observatory at http://www.hko.gov.hk/. All sources I have consulted indicate that Hong Kong receives at least 500 more hours of bright direct sunlight per year than Edinburgh, and given Hong Kong's latitude that sunlight is quite intense. Unless someone can provide justification for this statement I believe it should be removed.
