GA Reassessment[edit]

Article (edit | visual edit | history) · Article talk (edit | history) · Watch
In order to uphold the quality of Wikipedia:Good articles, all articles listed as Good articles are being reviewed against the GA criteria as part of the GA project quality task force. While all the hard work that has gone into this article is appreciated, unfortunately, as of February 12, 2009, this article fails to satisfy the criteria, as detailed below. For that reason, the article has been delisted from WP:GA. However, if improvements are made bringing the article up to standards, the article may be nominated at WP:GAN. If you feel this decision has been made in error, you may seek remediation at WP:GAR.

  • Too many sections are written as lists.
  • Several large sections are completely uncited, such as How communication takes place in an extension system: paternalism versus participation and Extension terminology. Others, such as History are barely cited.
  • Much of this article looks like original research, probably at least in part due to the lack of referencing.
  • Need to be careful about statements such as "Among academics working in this field, some have recently argued ..." and "Compared to 20 years ago ...", which are given without a time context.
  • There are two external links in the lead. External links should only appear in the External links section.
  • ... the type of work that we now recognize by that name". Should avoid the use of personal pronouns in an encyclopedia article.
  • "Among academics working in this field, some have recently argued that agricultural extension needs to be reinvented as a professional practice. Why the emphasis?
