Can the bottom-most pic Image:Jackass-Penguin.jpg be removed ? Does it provide anything the other two pics don't provide ? Having 3 pics for a small article somehow seems out of balance. (Apologies to the picture-takers and contributors, there's nothing wrong with the pic in its own merit though) Jay 16:18, 30 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I am not one of the picture-takers, but I think the picture is fine. Sure, it unbalances the layout of the article a bit, but they're good, high-quality pictures. Lowellian (talk)[[]] 06:30, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
Kind of funny... only less than two weeks ago you complained about 3 being too much, and now there are many more. I'm sort of neutral on the matter, but what do others think? --Nick Roberts 15:35, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

African penguins

Did you know that the African penguins get to be 4.4 to11lbs and get to be as tall as 68-70cmand when they get hot they send blood to the part thats hot and then cool them self down. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.56.42.92 (talk) 19:04, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Etymology

wounder y theyname them that even though i read the hole thing —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.162.239.134 (talk) 14:24, 25 October 2009)

Probably because they are penguins from Africa. Perhaps. Just a wild guess. Bob the Wikipedian (talkcontribs) 23:16, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Rerated as start

This was a B class rated, but really needs a good deal of work so rerated as start. Casliber (talk · contribs) 01:20, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Improved the structure of the article a little and added some information. (Drakenwolf (talk) 20:37, 6 May 2011 (UTC))

Range

In the "taxonomy" section, it states: "The other banded penguins are the African Penguin's closest relatives, and are all found mainly in the Southern Hemisphere". My understanding is that ALL penguins live south of the equator (ecept for the ones in captivity, of course). So is "mainly" really appropriate? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.246.86.168 (talk) 16:32, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

Galapagos penguins don't all live south of the Equator. So yes, it would be appropriate. Sumanuil (talk) 03:23, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

Flying penguins

The first paragraph says "like almost all species of penguins it is flightless". Can anyone expand on what species of penguin that can fly? I have certainly never heard of it. Or can I remove the "almost"? 87.52.45.224 (talk) 22:20, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
