Lack of Fleshing Out of Country Sections/Lack of Citations[edit]

I have just read through this article and I have a few questions. Firstly, why do some country sections only have one sentence attached to them? If the information on a certain country's divination techniques is unable to be located easily (or at all), wouldn't it just be better to maybe delete the sections?

Secondly, why do some sections have subsections and others do not? For example, Kenya has a developed introductory passage and 5 subsections underneath it, with each subsection highlighting a different tribe of divination practices. Other country sections such as Angola, however, introduce information that could possibly be fleshed out into a subsection (for Angola, this subsection could focus on the Kongo Peoples) and then do not elaborate. The phrase "Kongo Peoples" was linked to a citation, so I'm not sure why a subsection was not made because there apparently is a source available to bolster it.

Lastly, why do some citations only lead to websites where I can buy the book? I observed this phenomenon when clicking on both Citation 1:<ref> JC Woodfork (2006). Culture and Customs of the Central African Republic. Greenwood Publishing Group. p. 31. ISBN 0313332037. Retrieved January 10, 2017./ref> and Citation 3: <ref> L.S. Grillo (May 28, 2013). Retrieved December 26, 2015./<ref> This does not give users a specific place to verify/ learn more about the information presented to them in the article. If specifics for a certain claim can't be found in the citation (i.e; page numbers, chapters, etc.), then maybe it's best to remove the citation and the phrase altogether until a verified source can be found.

Lead needs work[edit]

"Specialism"[edit]

Currently, the article speaks of "divination specialism" in Kenya, with a wikilink to "specialism". What was the intended meaning? Maybe divination specialists? It currently leads to a disambiguation page. If somebody understands what was originally meant, it would be helpful if they would edit and clarify this.Pete unseth (talk) 21:40, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
