New episodes on the App[edit]

Although season 3 hasn't premiered on the block, new episodes of Rick and Morty are being streamed to the Adult Swim app on Mondays. I've edited the article accordingly. MarcoPolo250 (talk) 19:00, 17 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of programming list[edit]

Please note that a major issue concerning this article is being discussed at: Talk:Cartoon Network (Canada)#Removal of programming list Modernponderer (talk) 21:48, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pointless reply, but again, a spoiled rich kid is more deserving of donations then Wikipedia. I hope the day comes when someone buys out this website and hires people to do all the editing on these pages instead of letting the bottom-feeding trash I'm stuck with decide what's best.MarcoPolo250 (talk) 23:15, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Adult Swim channel[edit]

Moved information regarding the former Adult Swim block to the History section, updated the Programming section, and added information cited from the press release and TV listings. MarcoPolo250 (talk) 11:38, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

Merger proposal[edit]

I propose to merge Action (Canadian TV channel) into Adult Swim (Canada). Rationale for this is that Adult Swim is simply a rebranding of Action. The vast majority of all other similar situations where a TV channel is rebranded, the article is moved to the channel's new name. There are numbers of examples here to list, some of them being Life Network moved to Slice (TV channel), TalkTV moved to MTV (Canadian TV channel), and even Action itself was rebranded previously as Showcase Action and then the article moved to Action (Canadian TV channel). I understand that Adult Swim in Canada did exist as a programming black on Cartoon Network Canada at one time, however, this would be better suited as section in the merged article to explain the brand's origins in Canada. musimax. No, it wouldn't. talkTV is a little-known, irrelevant cable channel with no notable moments in its history to warrant the creation of its page to begin with. Its license being used to relaunch MTV in Canada was the only thing the channel was known for. You bring up the Adult Swim "programming black" on Cartoon Network Canada. Note how the history of the original Canadian MTV channel, now known as MTV2 Canada, wasn't merged with the article for the current incarnation. Nor Disney XD (Canadian TV channel) when it was relaunched under Corus Entertainment ownership and its previous incarnation became Family Chrgd.
What happened to Life Network and Showcase Action were simple rebrands: the name was changed but programming remained the same (ditto Showcase Diva when they began airing Lifetime shows prior to its rebrand). Action never aired any animated programming or quarter-hour comedies; they were known for male-targeting programming that weren't necessarily from the action genre (ie, TruTV shows). The sole programing to be carried over to Adult Swim was the morning TV movie block that only exists to fulfill CanCon requirements. Anyone who follows Adult Swim in the U.S knows that its programming is vastly different then what Showcase Action was airing.
The fact that Adult Swim previously existed in Canada as both a program block and a separate SVOD app programmed by [as] Games is reason enough why the history of the channel is maintained on the Adult Swim Canada page instead of Action.MarcoPolo250 (talk) 20:58, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
