Plastic engines[edit]

Not sure about the 'plastic aero engines' sentence - author may be confusing this with the initiative to develop composite fan blades for the RB211? Gilgamesh4 (talk) 09:50, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comment. The plastic engines technology was worked on first, then some of that technology was used in the early designs of the RB211 – it wasn't an initiative to only develop composite fan blades. As you probably know, the plastic blades were none too successful! I've added a bit to the article to make it a bit clearer. Cheers, BigDom (talk) 10:35, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
