when was the name changed to drop the apostrophe?[edit]

A lot of small Canadian communities lost the apostrophe in the 80s to accommodate computerization by provincial governments, when computers couldn't handle apostrophes. As far as I know, these were never officially changed, but simply adopted. This article, like many about small communities in Newfoundland, does not have a reference. Could someone point me in the direction of an act of government changing the name? --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 23:26, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
