Background[edit]

There are two different dates for Adam Yosef's date of birth on various information portals around the net. Is there any way of verifying the real date of birth, it's either 08/09/80 as stated here or 06/09/81 as claimed elsewhere? Mallrat 14:28, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removed multiple ethnicities information, was possible vandlism by 80.249.48.108 who also added the earlier removed terrorist tag.

Removed Bangladeshi background information by User 92.9.227.16. No reference cited.

Added citation note on background. References verify Adam Yosef as of Muslim faith himself. No references mention his religious background/origins. Should remain as is until reliable sources found. 90.218.4.84 (talk) 04:08, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pride[edit]

I removed the word "glowing" for specific reasons: one, it's a very subjective term and doesn't belong in a encyclopedia. Two, reading his article twice, I feel that it was an attempt by Adam to appropriate Pride Day for other groups ("When I stood amongst the thousands of people who conveged on Birmingham this weekend, I didn’t see it as just a celebration of gay identity", "When I stood amongst the thousands of people who conveged on Birmingham this weekend, I didn’t see it as just a celebration of gay identity."). I don't think an article about Pride Day that somehow seems embarrassed about the actual reason for it proves his tolerance for LGBT matters (while neither does it make him homophobic). --Paul Moloney 09:59, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I read the piece again and it seems to me that you have a point. I've put in another quotation which shows his somewhat ambivalent views. David | Talk 20:34, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Peter Tatchell[edit]

So far as I can find, there is no evidence that Peter Tatchell specifically criticised Adam Yosef until after the second questionable article Yosef wrote in the Desi Express which called for Tatchell to get a slap in the face. The Indymedia link provided was clearly written after this second article. David | Talk 17:59, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the links in the gay section are mixed up, but I can't untangle them right now. Anyone with more patience? BrainyBabe 20:04, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've just added some information and neatened the text. Peter Tatchell didn't initially criticise Adam Yosef's first article, he brought it up after the second one. The reference link might help work it out. UK 007 29 March 2006

Notability[edit]

In response to the 'notability' tag included by user IP 79.73.138.165 (Slough, London, UK), which has now been removed and rectified, the subject of this article 'Adam Yosef' fits the criteria of the Notability Guidelines:

  • "Sources,"[5] defined on Wikipedia as secondary sources, provide the most objective evidence of notability. The number and nature of reliable sources needed varies depending on the depth of coverage and quality of the sources. Multiple sources are generally preferred."
  • "The common theme in the notability guidelines is the requirement for verifiable objective evidence to support a claim of notability. Substantial coverage in reliable sources constitutes such objective evidence, as do published peer recognition and the other factors listed in the subject specific guidelines. Note WP:Verifiability: "If no reliable, third-party sources can be found for an article topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it.""

The subject has numerous reliable secondary and third party sources to both identify the subject and to provide evidence of the facts contained within this Wikipedia entry about the subject's work. These include newspaper articles and multiple third party content by reliable news mediums and sources. The subject is consistently in the public eye with external news sources featuring the subject on a regular basis and therefore the subjects fills the criteria of not being of temporary notability. Coverage of subject is not limited to inclusion based on press releases but includes third party analysis of subject.

The subject is cross-referenced in numerous other encycolopedic entries by a number of various users, inclusions which dispell the suggestion of self-publicity by one single user. Influence of the subject's work is indicated in related entries including Peter Tatchell, Respect Unity Coalition etc.

The entry does require updating, some of which I have included to feature more recent sources. Inclusion of 'Notability' tag may have been vandalism in the first instance, as the tag addition to this entry was the only single Wikipedia contribution made by the user. 80.249.48.115 (talk) 12:37, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Verifiable sources[edit]

Sources should be cited for all facts contained in this entry to prevent libel. Will look into some of them, Sources were present but some have expired so new citations need to be located, shouldn't be hard as most have multiple news sources. Might change the References to inline citations, a preferred format. No need to delete as yet as most information on here seems to be verifiable but needs updating, amending and additional information. 80.249.48.115 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:50, 7 April 2009 (UTC).[reply]
