Can somebody PLEASE type up an article of Ace Young's song of "Addicted" please? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Huggyprincess (talkcontribs) 01:51, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

slight reseblance

Anybody thank that ace looks a little like Constantine from a previous AI season. I saw a picture with George Bush and in the background I thought I saw Constantine. Maybe its just me —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.253.249.55 (talk) 20:15, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

GA Reassessment

This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Ace Young/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.

This article is undergoing a reassessment as part of the GA sweeps performed by the Good Article Project Quality taskforce in order to ensure that it still meets the requirements for Good Article status.

A quick glance at the article reveals numerous problems:

  1. The lead is too short and does not adequately summarize the article.
  2. The first and third paragraph in the "American Idol" section are unreferenced.
  3. The "Post-Idol" section is clearly thrown together, as it is a series of disjointed sentences. Most of the information, while important to the article, is unreferenced.
  4. The second, third, fourth, and fifth sentences in "Personal life" are unreferenced.
  5. The performance of his two singles is not mentioned in the prose (and is not referenced in the "Discography" section).
  6. Many of the references are dead links (see [1]. In addition, many of them are missing important information. At minimum, they should contain a title, publisher, url and access date (preferably using the "cite web" template). References consisted simply of urls are often subject to linkrot, as shown above).
  7. The reliability of some of the references is dubious. What makes tv.com reliable? Likewise with aceyoungfans.com, the blog section of rockymountainnews.com, realityblurred.com
  8. Reference 13 simply points to American Idol's news page. Since the page is updated regularly, whatever story this was supposed to link to is no longer shown.

I feel that this would take a lot of work to get back up to GA standards. I will place it on hold for one week, however, to give a chance for improvements to be made. If the article cannot be improved to meet the GA criteria, however, it will be delisted. Best wishes, GaryColemanFan (talk) 06:56, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

There has been no response, and this article is not particularly close to meeting GA standards, so I am closing this reassessment and delisting the article. It may be renominated again in the future, but the above list should be used as a guide for the minimum improvements necessary before nomination. Best wishes, GaryColemanFan (talk) 01:31, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Baker Street

I did not see a mention of a great version of the classic Jerry Rafferty song "Baker Street" that Ace did with sax man Michael Lington. Excellent cover of the original. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.122.101.23 (talk) 14:02, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Bones

He was on Bones. I just can't find a website that says he was. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.118.39.118 (talk) 00:34, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Article's citations

...are woefully inadequate. Many links are dead, even a couple that were supposedly archived. I've given some of the more egregious issues a once-over, but this article needs a lot more work. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:04, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Corrections from the subject

Any factual differences in this edit (and others from today) should be seriously considered. The subject of the article submitted this complaint: Special:ArticleFeedbackv5/Ace_Young/267188, so is presumeably the IP who made this edit and the others today. --99of9 (talk) 07:51, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Mr. Ace Young editing this article

Per this summary. Seems to be adding substantial wp:puffery Most of the changes are unsourced or original research per Wikipedia:No original research. Jim1138 (talk) 07:53, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Since the various anon IPs don't seem to be responding to editors' notices here and on at least one of their pages, I've put in a a request at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. --Tenebrae (talk) 20:03, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

I am trying to accurately edit this page but you have reverted to an inaccurate version and wiped out my attempts to source. This is the most accurate edit and the one that I am attempting to get further cited so that everyone can be happy: "Revision as of 17:49, 18 August 2012" Please, please revert to that edit. I believe the anon IP person, while frustrating to deal with, is generally accurate with their information but will need some clean up behind them as far as citing and grammar. Hi, Nomad, and I'm glad you came by. I'm with you: We're both trying to accurately edit this page, and I simply rolled back to one of your own earlier versions (which I'm surprised to hear you call "an inaccurate version"). In any case, your edits of 21:36 and 21:20 on August 18, 2012, and my subsequent mostly copy-edits and cite-format edits have made it more accurate and neutral than the version I had rolled back from, which had included at least one fully hagiographic, puffery-filled paragraph. As of the 22:15 edit of August 18, 2012, comprising your and my most recent edits, the page appears to be in good and promising shape so far. It still needs work, especially in the References section, but it's better than it's been, I think. --Tenebrae (talk) 04:15, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Tenebrae. In retrospect "inaccurate" wasn't the word I should have used. "Less accurate" than the one that is there now would be closer to what I meant. Between your edits and what I've worked on, I agree that we've got it in pretty good shape. I've added some further citation to support some of the changes made by the anon IP that appeared accurate but weren't sourced. I have a couple citations I'm still tracking down. I'm also looking for updated references for other sections, as many of the links are now archived or out of date. Hopefully there won't be any further "puffery" to deal with if the anon editor sees that the spirit of what he was trying to get across is still there, just with more neutral language. Thanks for your help! Nomad1200 (talk) 07:21, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Nomad1200
