Deletion[edit]

Wikipedia shouldn't be a game guide, now that this article has been nominated for deletion, someone should delete it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BushMyster (talkcontribs) 00:02, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not all of the guide is bad. I've added a move to gaming wiki tag to guide-esque sections.--Cliffball (talk) 14:25, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree with deletion. The game had a huge following and was not your typical flash or similar garage game. --97.83.100.145 (talk) 02:23, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article isn't that bad, it just needs a lot of work. 220.255.7.139 (talk) 19:17, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reaction to Shut Down[edit]

This section clearly violates the wikipedia NPOV standard. Articles cannot contain rhetoric against Yedang Online, even if users feel that they were unjustified in their actions. --71.195.48.139 (talk) 03:11, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's been a bunch of recent updates by Anyutepro and unknown user 203.126.240.5 (probably Anyutepro) violating the NPOV standard as well. Tiny, small edits I wouldn't normally notice unless he was being stupid and trying to get into a revert war. Childish. Brielle (talk) 20:33, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Enchantment[edit]

Added new section: Enchantment. I'd appreciate, if someone add some content to it. Such as the stat of good fixes. ( Sniper, paticle, etc ) BushMyster 17:08, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did a bit of cleaning up and tried to eliminate POV from contested statements. Lets keep it neutral eh?

Also think that some areas would benefit from more extensive details if a more experienced player would care to fill them in. For example, the types of missile/standard weapons, more clear and explicit explanations of each gears skills (I'm not even sure they are all up to date) and some similar features.

80.41.13.27 09:01, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try to work on that. BushMyster 00:50, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

whoever "69.246.54.85" is, thanks for correcting my mistakes and improving this article :).

Equipment[edit]

Renamed Weapons and Armour into Equipments, and added more content. Someone please check for errors. And add an engine section please =). I'll get to it eventualyl if no one else will. BushMyster 04:58, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PvP[edit]

someone please add some contents to the PvP section I started, I will add more when i get more time, but someone with more knowledge reguarding Nation Wars is appreciated if they add some content. BushMyster 06:22, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added/edited a lot of content under PvP, someone please check for errors (i'm a bit clumsy) and expand if possible. BushMyster 02:15, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know what's wrong with my game?[edit]

Whenever I try to connect to the game, it just says Server Not Activated. I tried re-installing and re-downloading it, but it won't work. What's wrong?

  • You downloading it off of "file planet" aren't you? I had the same problem but if you look at the updates it's an old file download that refuses to look for updates... don't use file planet to download it. Download it from the official website. RuMoR (T~C) 17:10, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Needs some ref additions to be kept alive[edit]

The mark for deletion people are at it again. I don't understand how this thing can still be so huge if there are so many people going after pages for deletion. Anyway any help would be greatly appreaciated. I threw in some ref tags just to keep the wolves at bay, but it would be incredibly helpful if people could actually make them point to the correct web pages on the SCO website. Thanks! 19:59, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

*Moved due to date of addition*[edit]

Should the article's title be changed to ACE Online? It is only known as Space Cowboy Online in the International Version simply because it has not been updated for almost a year. - KitsuFox —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.62.252.29 (talk) 22:16, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

I-Gears excel at fighting B-Gears? I Beg to differ... <_< -Ultimate

B-gear is the best gear out of all gear at higher level, i-gear considered to be strong due to frenzy but have weak armour however good evasion, m-gear consider more durable in battle but lacking in firepower, however, it can heal other gears along with having more skills to use for healing and a-gear... due to changes I do not know... however have accurate attack and more defence but can be defeated by bombing from b-gear

It doesn't make a difference...A skilled player can take down any gear regardless of the gear both are using. Regardless, B-gears are horrid at higher levels. I-gears, with their frenzy, destroy everything. >_>

Simple text edits[edit]

Just some examples of minor edits I made..

  • From: "All gears have skills that can be purchased from a "Skill shop" which can be used on improving their gear performance. There are different skill levels and the time a skill effects your gear can bought depending on the level of your gear."
  • To: "All gears have skills that can be purchased from the "Skill shop" which can be used to improve each gears performance. How much and how long a skill effects the target gear depends on the level of the gear performing the skill."
  • From: "Higher level skills will use many skills points to perform the skills."
  • To: "Higher level skills use up more skill points to perform skills."

Flysis redirect[edit]

Flysis redirects to this page. Shouldn't it be the other way around, since the game is no longer known as Space Cowboy Online? -D14BL0 (talk) 15:49, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What should now be the name of the article?[edit]

It seems currently Yedang has made an International server for Ace Online.

Currently, it's found in http://www.ace-onlines.com and typical of international versions, has lots of Engrish, anyway, so perhaps it's time to rename the article to Ace Online and instead redirect "Flysis" and "Space Cowboy Online" to that name instead? - StriderVM (talk) 11:32, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Naming of this article: Ace Online vs. Flysis[edit]

With the fact that both known iteration of SCO is not named as such, we can agree that it should rename and redirect. Question, however, is which one.

  • Flysis: One of the licenser. Known to have European servers
  • Ace Online: the other one. known to have International version, which is also for North America. If this is true, then we should rename it as Ace Online instead. However, if Flysis is also international... 75.156.106.118 (talk) 11:25, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

M-Gear[edit]

What happened to it being the most maneuverable o.o 71.248.148.179 (talk) 23:30, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

D'oh! Flysis got it's name changed![edit]

It's now called AirRivals, due to copyright issues! Damn! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.199.222.64 (talk) 22:00, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article reeks of Game Guide[edit]

I recommend taking a look at WP:NOT#GUIDE and WP:CVG/GL. If you ask me, taking out the parts that don't belong would reduce this article by maybe 50% of its current length. Gears, Skills, Equipment, Item Shop/Enchantments, and PvP should all really be just one paragraph each under a Gameplay section; not sections in and of themselves. While a description of the general gameplay is required of the article, it shouldn't detail every last key feature, status points at which you gain certain bonuses, and such. Ong elvin (talk) 03:24, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also believe that too much detail to the features is leaning more towards a game guide. --DavidD4scnrt (talk) 05:44, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why's that bad?[edit]

What's wrong with a game guide? GWW is one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.101.232.13 (talk) 12:39, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's because this is Wikipedia, not Ace-pedia or whatever. If you want to make one, go right on ahead.--Cliffball (talk) 18:56, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A complete rewrite is needed[edit]

This article on Space Cowboy Online need to be rewritten as there are some non-relevant information that is not needed such as maintenance section that I have removed. This suppose to be an article informing the reader about the game, not a game guide.

Also debating over the title of the article: was the game originally developed as SCO? If not then change the article name to original game title therefore when people enter the other version name, it should point to the original game.--Drahgo (talk) 22:09, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the ace online??[edit]

www.ace-onlines.com for the official international version, www.airrivals.net for the unofficial international version.--64.91.196.81 (talk) 21:26, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Air Rivals as the unofficial international server?[edit]

Could this be added in? Because Air Rivals IS truly the unofficial international server, the large majority of Americans who played SCO moved to Air Rivals, and Air Rivals has an international following as well as a European and American one. The "International" version held by Yedang is made up of mainly Americans and has only 1 server, about the size of Air Rivals' smallest server (Auriga)--64.91.196.81 (talk) 19:02, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unofficial is not official. Not to mention when the companies make the different versions they only plan on the people in the region the game is designed for to have those people play there. Also the information on Wikipedia should be official and not unofficial. Unless you can get Yedang Online to confirm or say that about AirRivals I do not see the point of adding that in. Saykai (talk) 18:35, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Space Cowboy Online Links[edit]

Gala-net has removed both the SCO website and forums and all those links direct you to the main Gala-net web page. I am also not implying we should remove any of the information or the name Space Cowboy from the section, but just remove the redirected links that no longer take you to the SCO website. Also about the letter to the SCO community by GM Xarfox, it would seem the information is not entirely true, both new publishing companies Gameforge4D and Yedang Online have a very different story, should that letter remain in this section? Saykai (talk) 18:15, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trailings?[edit]

I think it is worth mentioning under enhancements/customization, that players can trail their weapons differently. After all, trailing makes up a large part of the rendered special effects...and just looks really cool. Luna RainHowLCry 01:13, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

what is this?[edit]

hello peeps what kind of thhing are there in this crazy high flying game called ace online. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.109.136.206 (talk) 20:55, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A/B/I/M Gears?[edit]

A Gear[edit]

A Gears have this thing called siege mode which you can lock on a target and keep on shooting it untill it's dead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.109.136.206 (talk) 21:03, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nation[edit]

Welche Nation hat welchen "Carakter" und welche Spezialfähigkeiten? Welche würdet ihr als Gut und Böse bezeichnen? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.62.242.11 (talk) 21:13, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Keep the comments in target language! The question may be good idea, though. AlexLehm (talk) 13:07, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

History section[edit]

I have cleaned up irrelevant tidbits from the history section and tried to add a references, there are still a few open claims, feel free to add the game details to another section, but there is not point in mentioning defunct world names in the game history. The other section should be revised as well, but I haven't played the game enough to be able to do that. AlexLehm (talk) 13:03, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
