Jeff Session's claim[edit]

Senator Jeff Sessions claims: "It is uncontested that the leader and chief instructor at these camps was Abdul Haq..." Actually "Abdul Haq" is a very common name.

The Uyghurs claimed that the Abdul Haq who was the director of the camp was killed in the US bombing.

They could have been wrong, and he was only wounded, and slipped away.
They could have known he survived, and presented an united front, and lied, saying he died.
Or the Abdul Haq at the camp may have been a completely separate individual...

If he really was a senior leader in a terrorist group, and he had to make two dozen recruits share a single rifle, then I wonder how much of a threat a group so underequipped could have presented...

Anyhow, I plan to keep my eyes peeled for WP:RS that challenge Sessions assertion... Geo Swan (talk) 23:19, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

rename[edit]

I asked where the discussion of renaming Abdul Haq (ETIP) to Abdul Haq (terrorist) took place. Geo Swan (talk) 02:22, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The mover responded on their talk pagem saying: "It really helps me for the users to understand. ETIP is short and must be clearful."
I think disambiguators should first be unambiguous. Second they must comply with WP:NPOV. This individual is an Alleged terrorist. NPOV allows us to say he has been called a terrorist, properly attributed -- in the body of the article. I believe terrorist is inappropriate as a disambiguator, as it can't be attributed in the article name. Abdul Haq (Uyghur) is not sufficiently unambiguous. So I believe the article should be moved back to Abdul Haq (ETIP). Geo Swan (talk) 17:00, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Abdul Haq (ETIP)[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Abdul Haq (ETIP)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
