Edit to "climate" section[edit]

The "climate" section previously began as follows:

Abbott has a Humid continental cfa, hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification Csa).

This is incorrect in many ways. The climate box clearly shows the coldest month is above 0 C, so it's not humid continental, and the driest summer month has more than 40 mm precipitation, so it isn't Mediterranean either (see the respective WP entries). It's plainly humid subtropical (Cfa), like all of central-east Texas.

Also, the next paragraph said there is "no" precipitation in July and August, but that contradicts the climate box as well, so I changed it to "relatively little". — Preceding unsigned comment added by WeirdNAnnoyed (talkcontribs) 01:54, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@WeirdNAnnoyed: Thank you for catching this. However I suspect this very small town does not have a weather station. As such, the climate data on bestplaces.net cannot be real. It may be interpolated from that of nearby towns, or it may be taken directly from a nearby town. It would be okay to simply delete this climate chart, particularly since it seems to be hampering the formatting of the text on traditional PC browsers. @Soap:: Thanks for your comment. That thought crossed my mind as well, but without the chart wouldn't we have to delete the entire Climate section, since it contains the reference? (Not that it would matter much for such a short article). Also, sorry if I got the ping formatting wrong; new editor here. WeirdNAnnoyed (talk) 03:16, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I dont think anyone else will object, so I trimmed it to just a single sentence and combined it with the geography section. If anyone really wants a reference for that one sentence, I can just point to a Koppen climate map, but I've not seen anyone bring that up so far. Soap 03:27, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
