Make this article the primary target of Abbey Hill?[edit]

In my opinion, this article ought to be the primary target of Abbey Hill and the current disambiguation article at that name be changed to Abbey Hill (disambiguation). The Abbey Hill in Somerset is just a hamlet that gets a couple of lines in another article, whereas the one in Milton Keynes is a substantial civil parish. There are no other places called "Abbey Hill". For an equivalent discussion and conclusion, see Bletchley (of which there are more than one). Any comment before I proceed? (I shall leave a note to the same effect at Curland). --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 10:36, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If the consensus favours this change, there will of course be a template:other uses hat note at the top of the article directing readers to the disambiguation article. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 10:43, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This seems sensible as the Milton Keynes settlement is considerably larger.— Rod talk 10:48, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I have requested the move. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 21:59, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:16, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Incidentally I've changed the hatnotes at Abbeyhill and Abbey Hills to use Abbey Hill (disambiguation), per WP:HRULES "Links to disambiguation pages should always end in "(disambiguation)", even when that version of the title is a redirect". 62.165.227.102 (talk) 08:38, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed this to a multi-move. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:03, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's been changed back to a single-page request, because Abbey Hill redirects to the already existing dab page. Placing a redirect in the second page move position causes this requested move to be malformed. Paine Ellsworth, ed.  put'r there  10:25, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support "Abbey Hill" is a rather generic name but the one in Somerset isn't even a settlement[1] and the others on the DAB page appear to pass WP:SMALLDETAILS. Also the DAB page and edit history of the Somerset article should probably be split to Abbey Hill, Somerset. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:03, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose in books Abbey Hill, near Edinburgh. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:41, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Except that the place in Edinburgh is Abbeyhill, not Abbey Hill. Hat notes exist precisely to redirect people who have misdirected themselves or been misdirected elsewhere. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 23:54, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • It is also worth noting that the disambig article has has existed (as Abbey Hill before I amplified it and moved it this week) since 2005 as a simple redirect to Curland. So if misdirection were a real world problem rather than a theoretical one, perhaps someone might have noticed in over 13 years? --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 15:43, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, per nom. Dab page should stay as it's now useful; linked via hatnote on this article at the basename. --В²C 01:19, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
