It's not a question of 'anachronism'. The title as exhibited certainly included the full-stop, as given correctly in the opening sentence. Of course modern abbreviated versions may or may not include the full stop according to preference. Change whichever full-stopless instances you wish. You're misreading me.

I don't want to change anything.

We are just establishing that our artist, in his day, did not or would not have followed a late 20th century convention.

(I'm Canadian. We don't follow that convention. In English.)
