ABBA Gold - 25th Anniversary Edition - June 2017[edit]

On June 30th, ABBA Gold will be re-issued as a 25th Anniversary Edition. It is a Double Vinyl Set on 'Gold' Vinyl- although it looks more like a weird 'Green' colour, to some people. April 2019 -- 'ABBA Gold's Up-Dated UK Sales[edit]

On Monday 22nd April, The Official Charts Company revealed that 'ABBA Gold' has sold over 5,580,000 UK copies, to date. I - and others - get it to be on more than that, by carefully adding up its UK Sales since September 1992. We get over 5,780,000 UK Sales for it. However, we know that Wikipedia is only interested in what can be Linked to - 'Officially - so here is the Link to The Official Charts Article, which gives it 5,580,000 UK Sales:

Australian certification[edit]

'ABBA Gold' -- Some Corrected Statistics...[edit]

 The Article states that 'ABBA Gold' has sold 5.5 Million UK copies. That is out of date. On Monday 8th August 2020, The British Phonographic Industry, (The B.P.I.), Awarded 'ABBA Gold' a 19th Platinum Award. That was for UK Sales of 5,700,000. On the same day, 'Greatest Hits' (One), by Queen was given a 22nd UK Platinum Award, for 6,600,000 UK Sales. (You have it on 6,100,000 UK Sales). The Article states that 'ABBA Gold' has spent 62 Weeks in the UK Top 10. That is wrong. It has spent 61 Weeks in the Top 10, as can be seen at The Official Charts Company Site. Nor has it been to No.1 7 times, in the UK. It is 5 times - for a Total of 8 Weeks. 1994 and 1995 -- UK Year End Positions[edit]

'ABBA Gold -- Still The UK's 2nd Best Selling Album.[edit]

In March 2021, The UK's Official Charts Company, said that Adele's '21', had 'nearly' sold 6 Million, in the UK. This would make it the UK's 2nd Best Selling Album, in the UK - pushing 'ABBA Gold' down to 3rd place. In fact, The Official Charts Company made a huge error. '21' is still on 17 UK Platinum Awards. This means that its UK Sales are more than 5,100,000, but less than 5,400,000. It got its 17th Platinum Award on Friday 24th August 2018. Since then it has spent just 29 Weeks on the UK Album Chart, with only 1 of them in the Top 40. As a contrast 'ABBA Gold' got its 19th UK Platinum Award, on Monday 10th August 2020. That was for UK Sales of 5,700,000. Since then, it has remained in the UK Top 75 - mostly in the Top 40. Adele's '21', cannot possibly have outsold 'ABBA Gold' in the UK. The ABBA Album has outsold it by several 100,000. It remains the UK's 2nd Best Selling Album. '21' by Adele, is in 4th place. 'Sgt Pepper' by The Beatles is 3rd. That Album got its 18th UK Platinum Award, on the 10th August 2020. For Sales of 5,400,000. Gold Greatest Hits UK sales 6 million[edit]

Both of these refer to "chart sales", aka album-equivalent unit, not to pure sales. The highest pure sales source we have is now is 5.61 million, as quoted in the article. --Muhandes (talk) 22:09, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ABBA Gold -- Now On 6 Million UK Sales[edit]

On Friday 19th November 2021, the B.P.I., (British Phonographic Industry), gave 'ABBA Gold; a 20th UK Platinum Sales Award. That's 20 x 300,000 = 6 Million UK Sales. Orphaned references in ABBA Gold[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of ABBA Gold's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

UK Anniversary Edition[edit]
