This article is nothing but a bunch of self-promoting garbage, and represents everything wrong with Wikipedia. It's ironic that this article promotes the myth that ABBAMAIL promotes free speech; this group routinely kicks out people who dissent at all with the mailing list's owners. It's also a lie to say that ABBA List has "faded into obscurity"; it's thriving on Yahoo Groups, and should actually fare better than ABBAMAIL now that ABBAMAIL charges a membership fee now that it can't sell bootlegs anymore - a fact Wikipedia conviently overlooks. As a member of the list, I can say that the mailing list does not "routinely kick people out". I can count on one hand the number of people who have been kicked off in 10 years. Additionally, it does not read as an advertisement - it's a simple statement of facts about the organisation. I don't see how it could be considered an advertisement.

- I also do not believe that this should be here. Wiki is encyclopedic, and in the end, this is just a fan site for a pop group. What makes this one so different to warrant inclusion? Or are we soon to see the same for Michael Jackson, Madonna, Elvis, and (hopefuly not) Britney Spears. 60.234.242.196 19:01, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well the official Star Trek Fan Club has a wiki, as do other "fan organisations". Considering the length of time ABBAMAIL has been around, coupled with the effect they have had on ABBA releases, books, etc, then why shouldn't it be? Considering it is listed in print media (Bright Lights, Dark Shadows book by Carl Magnus Palm for one), it is relevent.

It sounds like an ad for itself to me....
