Article Style[edit]

This article is a bit too wordy for me, which is why I've added the {{essay-entry}} template. See A1 and A66 for good examples of how a roads article should be laid out, and not simply a narrative of all its waypoints, which is not useful for an encyclopedia. Primary Destinations[edit]

It is correct that the destinations that get added are primary, but they are not on the A47 route, they are 10 miles+ from the route. Following this logic the likes of Honiton, Stroud, Cheltenham should be added to the A38 article, which is obviously incorrect. Huntingdon and Kettering for example, are approximately 20 miles South of the A47 route! Jenuk1985 (talk) 11:10, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well spotted; but they may have been added because they appear on signs (i.e. Leeds is not on the A1 but it is signed as a PD)  — MapsMan [ talk | cont ] — 11:42, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
The situation on the ground is that Peterborough is the signed primary destination on the A47 from Leicester, and vice versa on the return journey. As for the situation East of Peterborough, I do not know, but I would expect its similar, with just Wisbech and Kings Lynn being signed as the main primary destinations. The likes of Corby will be signed from the A47, but they are not signed as a primary destination for the A47 itself. I hope that makes sense! Jenuk1985 (talk) 12:34, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New reference for the history of the road[edit]

I was looking at a Norfolk newspapers website and came across this. My problem is that it seems to be a selected copy of the section (which needs more references). Do I use it or not? => Spudgfsh (Text Me!) 16:17, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Major junctions[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians, I have reduced the amount of major junctions on this article from 41 to 10 by moving the A12 and A4540 to the necessary terminus junction area, while other non-primary roads, as well as three-digit primary roads and four-digit primary roads, have been deleted.
