Guest changes[edit]

Ralph Bakshi has withdrawn as a Guest from the 2009 Worldcon, citing reasons of his age and health. The website shows his name has disappeared from the list of other guests. The con has advanced the above explanation, though not publicized the change widely. (I have also heard Ralph Bakshi's reasons through sources in the animation field.) It does not appear as though Anticipation will chose a replacement. It has not announced any intention to do so.

Following a talk with the convention chairman this evening, I can confirm that Ralph Bakshi withdrew from Anticipation by his own choice. The worldcon wanted to honour him even in his absence, but there was no further communication from Mr. Baksi, so the idea has been dropped. No replacement is being considered for Artist Guest of Honour at this late date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.95.15.174 (talk) 09:39, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
