HELP - Running on WinXP[edit]

I know this is not the place to do it, but I need help running this game on Windows XP and I don't know what to do? If anyone out there can help, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks Mark 03:29, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

DOSBox works best for me. 70.178.93.149 00:37, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Windows version? doubtful to me......[edit]

I'm not yet convinced that there is an actual, separate version of 3D Lemmings specifically for Windows. Everywhere I've heard it is just the DOS version available for the PC, which is also why I keep hearing so many people have trouble getting the game to run on modern versions of Windows such as XP.

It' possible that the game's box or manual might say the game is "Windows compatible", but in this case I think that might just mean it is a DOS app that complies with DPMI.

If after a month or so (during which I'll try to research the issue myself further) there are no convincing evidence of a real Windows version, I will remove this game under the category of "Windows Game" and any mentioning of this game in the article as a Windows game.

Changed the article accordingly. I own the version with the cover shown in the article (with the Windows logo on it), and it's a pure DOS game. So, I'm quite sure that Windows logo does not mean that the game run natively under Windows. --84.60.224.183 (talk) 19:27, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That means DOSBox is needed to run it in XP or Vista. If it had native support, there's a good chance it would've worked without it. Digifiend (talk) 11:21, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the article is still misleading.. or at least incomplete because of the use of the word "probably". I had this game and ran it on windows 95 without having to do anything in DOS (maybe there was some scripting or something else going on). Anyway the game was indeed fully compatible with windows 95, and that's not clear here. 192.198.151.37 (talk) 10:21, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What I think it's really misleading is adding this page to the Cancelled Windows games category. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.244.247.113 (talk) 11:57, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
