Correction about 3D glasses[edit]

I was so surprised (and skeptical!) to hear that this game could be used with 3D glasses that I emailed Simon Vout (one of the founders of Software Invasion and programmer of 3D Bomb Alley) and said that I think the gentleman in the cited youtube video was maybe confused by the purple on cyan colour fringing on a crt monitor or some other such distortion.. He sent a lovely reply and said:

"You are absolutely right about the 3D. The YouTube video is the sort of picture we used to put up with and so wasn’t crisp like todays HD or 4K screens. We called it 3D simply because the ‘sprites’ changed size and looked as if they came towards the screen. We never tried making anything that used 3D glasses. Maybe we should have!"

I didnt want to edit out your contribution as I don't think an email is 'citable' but though you might be interested, as the "3D Glasses" thing seems to have spread from this youtube video to other websites.

Kind Regards

-Tony

@Pone7777: Thanks, I have updated the article. I don't think the reviewer was mislead by the image not being sharp. If you look at the explosions on the Electron version some of the magenta dots have green dots that appear to be horizontally offset. I think it is just incidental, especially because the BBC Micro version uses black dots. Jonpatterns (talk) 21:17, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
