Seeding[edit]

Opening this up for discussion since there has been some controversy. It's premature to start entering most or all teams into tournament seeds for the reason that we don't yet know whether any teams will be seeded by NET rankings rather than by conference winning percentage. If all remaining games are played, the median number of A-10 games played will be 13.5, making the 60% threshold for seeding by winning percentage 8.1.

George Washington will be unable to meet that threshold as they can only play a maximum of 8 conference games. GW is currently the 12th ranked A-10 team by NET, but that could change depending on results in the remaining games. The most obvious possibility is that they are currently only 7 spots ahead of Saint Joseph's in the overall NET and so could easily fall to 13th in the conference NET rankings. GW could certainly also end up seeded by winning percentage if the median number of A-10 games ends up below 13.5 and they play their full 8, but Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, so we should wait for things to be confirmed.

An argument could be made that Fordham is locked in as the 14-seed, as there doesn't seem to be any way GW could fall all the way to 14th in the A-10 NET rankings, but the NET formula is not public so nobody except the NCAA can run the experiment to see where they would end up in all permutations of results.
