Color[edit]

@HapHaxion: Isn't there a need for a different shade of red color to be used for the new party? It's impossible to distinguish where it won its seat on the map, and I'm guessing it will be the same on the diagram. :/--Aréat (talk) 16:32, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Right Person Electorate Coalition name[edit]

@HapHaxion: Right Person Electorate Coalition (Зөв хүн электорат эвсэл) name is derived from National Labor Party (Хөдөлмөрийн Үндэсний Нам - ХҮН) and "Electorate" movement (Электорат хөдөлгөөн), which is founded by Mongolian public figures, intellectuals and publicly recognized artists, including publisher Baabar (B.Batbayar), composer N.Jantsannorov, former Prime minister D.Sodnom, cosmonaut, Major general J.Gurragchaa. Electorate movement motto is "The movement to support right person" (Зөв хүнээ дэмжих хөдөлгөөн). It is correct to enter the coalition name as Right Person Electorate Coalition.

Is "Electorate" really a correct translation? It looks like "Right Person Electoral Coalition" would be the English equivalent. Number 5 7 12:44, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@HapHaxion:@Number 57: Coalition used "electorate" (noun word), instead of "electoral" (adjective word) in their name. And many domestic and international media sources, including Montsame, The Washington post, The Diplomat are using "Right Person Electorate Coalition" name. Please, consider this.

@Saruul 04: That name makes no sense though. "Electorate" means the people voting in the election. "Electorate Coalition" is nonsensical in English. Party names shouldn't necessarily be a direct translation, they should be translated to give the same meaning or one that makes sense in English. Number 5 7 11:41, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Number 57: It seems like at this point we have a bit of a quandary. Do we use the technically grammatically incorrect term used by media sources per Saruul 04, or do we use the corrected version? If he is correct about the media using this particular name, using the media interpretation and the sources of the coalition's name would probably be closer to matching WP:NCPP even if grammatically incorrect, unless it falls under the "makes no sense in English" clause, although in that case we would probably default to using the transliterated name rather than the translated one as stated on the guidelines page unless determined otherwise. If there was one or two sources that use "electoral" I would say we should go with it, but it seems every source uses "electorate" (there isn't a single hit on Google for the "electoral" version), so for now it looks like we're stuck with it... Number 5 7 20:15, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
