Matheny NL Manger?[edit]

As I know, the honor goes to the manger who won the previous year's pennant, not the team's current manger — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.200.253.182 (talk) 20:17, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what the procedure is. I don't remember when the last year was that a defending pennant winning manager didn't return. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:40, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The REAL reason why Fenway didn't get the 2012 All-Star game[edit]

The way the article reads now, it just simply says it already hosted the 1999 one. What I had been trying to say is that it wasn't just a regular generic All-Star game, it was a very special one, which featured the nominees for the All-Century Team as well as Ted Williams. My point was that those reasons should also be included because clearly Fenway wasn't passed over just because they hosed a fairly recent All-Star game, but they just recently hosted a very special one (and in fact Fenway got the 1999 one because at the time it was believed Fenway would be gone in a few years but this reason doesn't need to be included). 75.81.252.25 (talk) 17:40, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What you are suggesting, at this point, seems to be original research. From the sources, Kauffman Stadium was chosen over Fenway Park because Fenway Park hosted the ASG in 1999. There is no indication that the All-Century Team ceremony played any role in that. To include that statement, you would need to find a source that explicitly states that the specific nature of the 1999 ASG resulted in Fenway not getting the 2012 ASG, and that not having the ceremony would have made it more likely that Fenway would've been chosen. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:05, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not using "original research"; I'm simply looking at the clear circumstantial evidence that Fenway would've had a better shot at getting the 2012 game if the 1999 game had been just a regular generic ASG. All I'm saying is that the fact it was a special ASG with not just the All-Century team nominees but also the emotional and memorable appearance by Ted Williams made it a really special one.75.81.252.25 (talk) 17:14, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All-Star Voting Controversy[edit]

I think this is a big enough deal to warrant a subsection. Wouldn't you say? 65.100.182.106 (talk) 06:17, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
