"Head coach" names a little premature?[edit]

Given some of the results in the 2009 Championship, notably Scotland and Italy, and with Italy's summer tour to go, isn't it a bit premature to state the head coach names in this article without some form of "as at March 2009" disclaimer? I know Dondi has reportedly said that Mallet's job is safe, but should Italy get battered again Down Under this might change. Thare are also rumblings about Hadden; though obviously rumblings in the Press don't count for a lot I'm not sure WP can state that these are the head coaches for next year. Fair point. I only created the article by copying and pasting from the 2009 one. Looks like someone removed them anyway. In future I'd just go right ahead and make changes such as these without worrying too much! Nouse4aname (talk) 14:28, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I spend too much time on WP:AN/I, I think! The amount of drama caused by people being bold has to be seen to be believed, sometimes. Perhaps I should get out more.

Abbreviations[edit]

Kudos to those updating scores in real time, but could someone explain what the abbreviations 'm' and 'c' mean after a try? I assume 'c' means 'converted', but what's 'm'? 'Made'? Could a footnote and ref be created to explain these (presumably standard in some way) abbreviations? Thanks, Tonywalton Talk 01:13, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that. Is this well-known anywhere (like o.g. in the round-ball game)? It could maybe do with some explanatory note (or perhaps I'm just ignorant!) . OTOH is it relevant? A try's 5 points, whether missed or converted; the fate of the conversion into a goal is up to the kicker, not the try-scorer. Tonywalton Talk 01:55, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Adding "c" or "m" to each try just lets the reader know which were converted and which were missed. You're right that it doesn't affect the points totals, but if we can give the reader a little more info through the addition of two extra characters, I don't see why we shouldn't. – PeeJay 02:04, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
