Candidate order[edit]

Consistent with NSW Electoral Commission, candidates should be listed by name first, not by party. [1] WWGB (talk) 08:32, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think how the NSWEC does it has anything to do with it, to be honest - it's a style issue, not a factual one. In the past, by-election articles have listed party first, then candidate. Perhaps bring this up at WT:AUP if you want to change this. When the ballot paper is released, it'll be even less of an issue, since they won't be listed alphabetically anymore. Payne[edit]

How is the fact that Ayres is Marise Payne's partner not notable? There's been a news story about it, and it's clearly relevant. Are you suggesting that if Janette Howard was running we shouldn't mention John, since he's not involved? Frickeg (talk) 09:59, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New record for swing against the government or Labor?[edit]

Kahibah state by-election, 1953 was a swing of 40% against the government and 34% towards an independent, does that count? Романов (talk) 13:32, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's a primary vote swing. This article explicity refers to the record for two-party-preferred. Kahibah's certainly an extreme result (I'm thinking it's significance could also lie in the fact that the defending party didn't even make 2PP), but in 2PP terms Penrith still holds the crown (as far as I know, anyway ...)
