UE Lleida's rank as of 7 May 2011[edit]

I'm just wondering whether UE Lleida's rank is correct. In 2010-11 UE Lleida season, you can see that Orihuela and UE Lleida played two matches, one was 1 – 0 and the other one was 1 – 0. (One loss and one win for each.) According to the table, it's points (drawn), head to head (drawn) and then goal difference. UE Lleida's has scored a goal difference of +18 and Orihuela +10, so why is Orihuela ranked higher? JaumeBG 10:27, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Every source I see lists Orihuela first, so I don't know. Will investigate further. SellymeTalk 11:17, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because Lleida has the same points as Orihuela AND Alcoyano AND Badalona, so it is like a league between these four teams to break the tie so Orihuela is ranked above Lleida. Qampunen (talk) 15:46, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Rules for classification: 1st points; 2nd head-to-head; 3rd goal difference; 4th goals scored." The four teams are drawn on points, okay. Let's proceed to the next one, head to head. In that, UE Lleida has lost against Badalona 0 – 2 and 1 – 2. Badalona is ranked higher than Lleida then. Against Alcoyano UE Lleida has lost 2 – 0 and drawn 1 – 1. Alcoyano is ranked higher. Against Orihuela, Lleida has lost 1 – 0 and won 0 – 1. They're drawn on points. After points, it's goal difference. Lleida has a goal difference of +18 while Alcoyano has a goal difference of +10. According to the "rules for classification", Lleida should be ranked above Orihuela. JaumeBG 01:52, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No, it isn't each individual match-up calculated, in that case Lleida would be above Orihuela, who would be above Badalona, who would be above Lleida. It wouldn't work. It's as if the four teams were in their own league with their matches calculated, which would result in something like this. SellymeTalk 06:45, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
