Article[edit]

This article says 4800 athletes from 105 countries, without providing a source. The BBC says over 3000 athletes from 91 countries. Which is it? Aridd (talk) 06:55, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There's a list at the official website, but you have to hunt for it, it doesn't seem to be published coherently.
Ah, yes, there's a drop list. Unless I've miscounted, the list contains 105 countries. The China Post, though, is saying "nearly 3,300 athletes from 90 countries", while the official website seems to confirm it's 91. So are there six (or seven) countries which are somehow "participating" without sending athletes? Aridd (talk) 09:10, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not all of them are countries, such as Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Macau, etc. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 21:52, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright-free images[edit]

The official website, http://wg2009.pts.org.tw/search.php, says that all of the images and text is copyright-free, you just have to source them, so if anybody wants to use photos, they're there. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 23:19, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure they're copyright-free? The wording seems ambiguous to me. Aridd (talk) 09:10, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I guess it is kind of ambiguous: "Please credit all copyright-free scripts and photos as courtesy of KOC-CNA". Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 21:47, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

location[edit]

Why did user:The alliance claim in an edit comment that this was already being discussed here when it clearly is not.

Why are we injecting politics into the location. Readin (talk) 02:20, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorting of Chinese Taipei[edit]

From Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Chinese):

Generally following the established convention of alphabetizing countries under their common names, the Republic of China (i.e. Taiwan) should be alphabetized under "T" while the People's Republic of China should be alphabetized under "C". The former can be listed, depending on context, either as "Republic of China (Taiwan)" or "Taiwan (Republic of China)".

Medal table[edit]

I have updated the medal table (1) to add the medals for an event that is missing from the results as shown, and (2) to correct one nation's medal distribution. The table did not reflect the medals for men's beach team handball (gold - Brazil, silver- Hungary, bronze - Croatia). Also, New Zealand actually won 3 silver medals (W aerobic gymnastics, W open kumite karate, M beach life saving - surf) and 6 bronze medals (W beach life saving - ocean, W beach life saving - rescue board, W beach life saving - surf, M Life Saving Combined Relay, W Speed Skating Track - Point Elimination 10.000m, W Speed Skating Track - Sprint 1.000m ), not 4 silver and 5 bronze. Note that the All-time World Games medal table already had included these correctly. Jeff in CA (talk) 03:59, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
