Fair use rationale for Image:Bali2008l.jpg[edit]

Image:Bali2008l.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Sourcing[edit]

When adding information please include it source, the sources should be from third parties like media outlets covering the games rather than just the games organisers website. 02:09, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

I agree, most of the statements in the article aren't sourced, which may be subject to questioning their validity. I'll try to look for sources ASAP. Xeltran (talk) 05:01, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The right facts[edit]

The Olympic Council of Asia official site states that 45 nations participated, with a total of 19 sports in the games. What's the right numbers? I've placed {{Accuracy}} on the article for now. ANGCHENRUI WP:MSE 05:47, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ocasia website isn't accurate at all, it includes many many mistakes. Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan and Buhtan didn't participate, (they withdrew in the last days if my memory works well) you can check all of the results pages, and they count Windsurfing and Sailing as 2 different sports , which is wrong ! --Mohsen1248 (talk) 06:01, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So they were only the numbers expected? Okay but how do you independently verify those stuff? And I thought windsurfing and sailing are different sports. ANGCHENRUI WP:MSE 10:16, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes exactly, you can see the name of all 45 Ocasia members for 2010 Asian Games, which isn't even started yet ! even their medal table is wrong, Kazakhstan had 1 silver medal in beach volleyball. but I can't find the article which I read it from 2 years ago about the withdrawal of these 3 NOCs.
for IOC, windsurfing is a part of Sailing. --Mohsen1248 (talk) 14:35, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't seem wrong. Its in the present tense; the notion is that these nations will be participating (Nations Participating: 45). The same practice goes for the Olympics etc. You're very sure you got the Kazakhstan silver medal right? Is that the only error? Sorry for being pedantic; its cause for concern when the official source is wrong. ANGCHENRUI WP:MSE 04:49, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I want to say, they are writing the names of all 45 NOCs before the games and won't update it if anyone withdraw. I followed these games very close, Beach volleyball finals finished just some hours before the closing ceremony, and Ocasia website (and official website bali2008.com) didn't count beach volleyball medals in the initial medal table, the last time I checked their websites (some months ago) but currently I see they changed the medal table but still forgot the Kazakhstani silver. I downloaded all the results from the official website and I can send beach volleyball results to you if you want to look at it. --Mohsen1248 (talk) 05:12, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the IOC doesn't regulate that event, it just sanctions it. So the sports can be different. I think this is the case with the Asian Beach Games. As far as I know, windsurfing is typically held as a sport by itself. ANGCHENRUI WP:MSE 04:54, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
if you check the 2010 Asian Beach Games official website, you can see that Windsurfing is a part of Sailing. it's a double standard ! --Mohsen1248 (talk) 05:12, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
