Corvette or Chevrolet Corvette?[edit]

The official FIA GT site uses "Corvette" rather than "Chevrolet Corvette", even in the Manufacturers' pointscore tables. Why have we changed Corvette to Chevrolet Corvette? Refer www.fiagt.com & http://www.gmeurope.com/brands/corvette.html

In Europe the car is not sold by the Chevrolet brand (a holdover of the fact that there was no Chevrolet brand in Europe until a few years ago), hence they sell it as an apparent "Corvette" brand. However, in Europe and other parts of the world, the car is a Chevrolet Corvette. Either Corvette C6.R or Chevrolet Corvette C6.R are correct, it's simply been changed to Chevrolet Corvette C6.R because that's the title for that article. The359 21:58, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. But my point is that they obviously ran as Corvettes in the 2006 FIA GTC, not as Chevrolets. Shouldn't the name under which they were entered in the championship take precedence over the name that was used for a Wikipedia article? GTHO 02:12, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think the manufacturer really matters too much to the FIA considering there's only one model that competes in the series, same as Maserati, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, and so on. The359 02:17, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
