Some notes[edit]

I would like to give some notes:

An utter surprise was retirement of Petra Kronberger in the last days of December 1992. She said she was unmotivated with skiing.

At the end of the season the final races (at Åre) were carried out at first time under special regulations: Only the first 15 in the classement were to be awarded with points. Processing of the final started with cancelling downhill races for men and women. To be a foregone conclusion, as well the men's as women's decision were challenges between two male resp. to female racers:

Men: Marc Girardelli started with 236 points ahead Kjetil André Aamodt; the Norwegian did flick on his race to catch up; he could win the Super-G (Girardelli finished 15th) and the giant slalom, but here Girardelli became third, therefore he could achieve the Overall World Cup, having 112 points (being uncatchable before the slalom).

Women: "Point of depature" (starting position) between Anita Wachter and Katja Seizinger was tight: Wachter was 50 points ahead her opponent, Seizinger could win the Super-G (7th place for Wachter), therefore Seizinger went into lead by 1216 vs. 1202. Next race was the giant slalom: Wachter on the 3rd, Seizinger on the 4th place - margin of Seizinger was reduced to 4 points. In the slalom, Wachter finished 11th (capturing 24 points), by way of contrast, Seizinger did remain with zero points (she was not such a good slalom racer, she finished 18th). 213.225.37.22 (talk) 17:54, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
