This page needs to make it clearer who ended up in government. I read this and thought that de Valera's party won, because they had the most votes. Then I looked at the 1957 election page and saw that Costello was the incumbent at that point, and was confused as hell. The opening paragraph of all these election articles needs to contain a sentence saying something like 'The election resulted in a change of government to [x] under [y]', or 'the [x party] retained its hold on government but with a reduced majority' or whatever. --Helenalex (talk) 02:51, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
