No independents elected[edit]

I discovered a count error. 74 seats but the count was 75. I removed the single seat allocated to the independent.

Alexander Wilson is the culprit. He's listed variously in different publications, but in the Parliamentary Handbooks he's an independent and he defeated a sitting Country Party MP so that's what we've always gone with. The UWA Elections website is not spectacular for historical accuracy on the details - of all the broad sources which annoy me by being cavalier about little things like "which member was this party in", they are one of the worst offenders. I wouldn't even use if as a source if I could avoid it except for something like an election date. The Drover's Wife (talk) 08:32, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Coalition numbers[edit]

There is a discrepancy between the infobox, which records the Coalition increasing its numbers, by one, from 42 to 43; and the results table below which records the Coalition losing four seats to end up with 43. The issue is the Liberal and Country League of South Australia which elected five members in 1934 but whose members are recorded either in the UAP or the Country Party in 1937. I propose to amend the figures to show the LCL members as Coalition members in the 1934-37 Parliament. Refer to Talk:1934 Australian federal election for greater detail.
