March 11 trade with Baltimore[edit]

Is there a cite somewhere that says that the large number of players moving between the Superbas and the Orioles was an actual trade? Baseball-reference lists each one as a separate "assignment" of the individual player. Since the two teams were owned by the same ownership group, it would seem to me that this is more like the situation described on the 1899 Cleveland Spiders season page.

In any case, I have moved the "trade" to the introduction (as it is on the Spiders page) and left it without a citation for the time being. Any further information would be appreciated. -Dewelar (talk) 20:49, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Baseball assessment comment[edit]

There is at least an opening head paragraph in this article. There is even a transactions section which encompasses the entire year of 1899. The article contains some useful information and includes tables with statistical values for the players. But without some concrete sections on how the team did in the regular season, how can the reader possibly be satisfied with this article? There is a good foundation upon which to build a strong article, but I think it starts at summarizing the season. After the summary of the season, pictures will help fortify the article with visuals. The article deserves a stub rating for the time being. Come and discuss here or at my page. Thanks Fdssdf (talk) 23:47, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
