Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that 2nd Infantry Division (Germany) and 2nd Infantry Division (Wehrmacht) be merged into 12th Panzer Division (Wehrmacht), as the 2nd Infantry Division was converted into the 12th Panzer Division. I think that the content in the two 2nd Division articles (which are almost identical) can easily be explained in the context of this article, and this article is of a reasonable size that the merging of the two 2nd Division articles will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. The two 2nd Division articles would remain as redirects. Peacemaker67 (send... over) 03:46, 14 April 2014 (UTC) I think that generally a user clicks on a 12PD link and arrives at an article entitled 2nd Infantry Division (Wehrmacht) is very confusing. As Panzer division were very different from infantry divisions its best to keep them separate Christwelfwww (talk) 10:43, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Peacemaker67 and Christwelfwww: Is this proposal still active or has it gone stale after more than 2 years? Personally I would prefer separate articles as they are essentially separate divisions. Stoves in Die Gepanzerten und Motorisierten Deutschen Grossverbände 1935 – 1945 awards them separate entries in his book while Mitcham only makes a passing reference to the pre-October 1940 history in The Panzer Legions. Troop sign (vehicle)[edit]

I think, 2nd ID (mot) had another. Was this a, how should one put it, "six-edged" rectangle (no real Hexagon, but six edges), quadrilateral with added two-edge on the right, down right a number "2" ? Thank you. --213.172.123.242 (talk) 12:01, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
