Untitled[edit]

According to this page: http://www.pr.afrl.af.mil/JP8plus100.html Ethylene dibromide has never been used in jet fuel. Any sources that say otherwise?

Since the statement was unsourced and contradicted else, I have removed it. It didn't make much sense logically either. Edgar181 12:13, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone cite sources that say a woman died due to ingestion of dibromoethane? Not disputing it, just kinda random as it sits. Blocky 16:33, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, a report from the public health services, found here: www.atsdr.cdc.gov/toxprofiles/tp37.pdf states that a woman died after drinking 40 mL of 1,2-dibromoethane. Unfortunately, even this doesn't name the woman. Continuing to try to figure that part out. IdiotsOpposite (talk) 05:02, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Similarities with methyl bromide[edit]

Are the health effects and other properties of this substance related to those of methyl bromide? Both are used as insect fumigants, for example. Should methyl bromide be under 'See also'? 130.88.117.116 (talk) 14:01, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The link http://potency.lbl.gov/pdfs/herp.pdf is no longer available. According to EPA's Technology Transfer/Air Toxics website, EPA has classified ethylene dibromide as a Group B2, probable human carcinogen (http://www.epa.gov/ttn/atw/hlthef/ethyl-di.html).199.48.25.10 (talk) 20:53, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
