Sídlisko Juh (Slovak pronunciation: ['siːdliskɔ 'jux]) is the second largest sídlisko of Pezinok. It is located in the southern part of the city near the Sídlisko Starý dvor, which is located northwest and the Sahara, which is located west of the borough.

On Bystrická Street there is a kindergarten and the Kocka department store. In addition, this borough has a care center for pensioners, an affiliated school, an indoor swimming pool, the SOŠ Sports Hall and the former secondary professional school (formerly secondary vocational school), which today houses the Church Primary School Narnia on Komenského Street.

History[edit]

In the 1970s, Sídlisko Juh began to write its history.[1] The preparation of the Juh housing estate for concentrated corporate construction was one of the main tasks of the 1971–1975 five-year plan election program. A detailed spatial plan for the new dominant neighborhood of Pezinok was drawn up already in 1972, and according to it, buildings were to be built 485 housing units, shops, services, restaurant, substation, exchange station, eleven playgrounds for children and a kindergarten for 90 children.[2] Towards the late[2] 1974,[1] the first apartment buildings were built in this part of Pezinok by Pozemné stavby Trnava, závod Pezinok.[2]
