  • On 31 November 2011, an agreement was signed to build a new international railway connecting Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Niger and Benin.[5]
  • In 2011, there was a proposal to convert the line to standard gauge.[6]

2014[edit]

Minister of economic infrastructure proposes a $160 million railway from Ouangolo in northern Ivory Coast to Sikasso in southern Mali.[8][9]
