Miriam "Yami" V. Merlin[1][2] is a Filipino former footballer who played for the Philippines women's national football and futsal teams.

Career[edit]

She played with the Philippine national football team of the 1980s which was coached by Orlando Plagata with Buda Bautista and Let Dimzon as her teammates.[3] She was scouted for the national team while participating in the 1993 Philippine National Games in Baguio at age 17.[4]

Merlin played for the Philippine national futsal team of coach Manny Batungbacal which finished as bronze medalists of the women's futsal event of the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok.[5]

Later life[edit]

Merlin would be coach of the De La Salle Lipa high school girl's team for at least 20 years where she also taught as a grade 9 physical education instructor.[4]
