The Ministry of Aviation is a ministry responsible for overseeing air transport and all things related to aviation in Somalia. The current Minister of Aviation is Mohamed Abdullahi Salad.[1]

According to a study by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), more than 4.5% of the world's gross domestic product (GDP) is accounted for by the air transport component of civil aviation.

The development of an efficient aviation sector is an important component of Somalia's GDP by supporting tourism, an industry with huge employment opportunities.[2]
