The Kiyosue Domain (清末藩, Kiyosue-han) was a Japanese domain of the Edo period, located in Nagato Province. It was ruled for the entirety of its history by a branch of the Mōri clan of the neighboring Chōshū Domain.

History[edit]

The Mōri clan, led by Mōri Mototomo, holds the position of lord of the Chofu Domain, with a kokudaka of approximately 10,000 koku. The domain was established by Mōri Mototomo in 1653, following the will of his predecessor, Morí Hidemoto. In 1718, the domain was revived by the second lord Mōri Motohira, after being temporarily discontinued. The fourth lord, Mōri Masakuni, implemented reforms such as establishing a domain school, but faced financial difficulties and internal conflicts. The Mori family's crest is "Ichimonji Saboshi", with variations in different branches. The eighth lord, Mōri Motozumi, ruled during the end of the domain's history.
