Khadija Mbowe (born 1991 or 1992) is a Canadian-Gambian YouTuber. They[a] have covered topics such as Black masculinity, the male gaze, queerbaiting, and the racial history of emotional intelligence.[2]

Early life and education[edit]

They attended the University of Toronto, and graduated with a music degree in 2020.[3] Mbowe initially planned on becoming a jazz musician.[3]

Mbowe was a resident at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.[4]

Online presence[edit]

Mbowe's began making YouTube videos in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.[3][5] By May 2021, they had gained 300,000 subscribers;[2] by the end of the year, they had more than 450,000.[5]

Personal life[edit]

Mbowe is queer.[3] They are aromantic,[6] and non-binary.[7] Mbowe's father is Muslim and West African.[3]
