Karataka Damanaka is a 2024 Indian Kannada-language action drama film directed by Yogaraj Bhat, and produced by Rockline Venkatesh. The film stars Shiva Rajkumar, Prabhu Deva, Priya Anand and Nishvika Naidu in the lead roles.[3] The title of the film is derived from the characters found in the "Mitra Bedha" book of Panchatantra.[4]
Released on 8 March 2024,[5] the film marks the return of Prabhu Deva to Kannada cinema after 17 years.[6]
Plot[edit]
Two fraudsters are on a mission to convince and bring a man back to the city, but they take a different route which complicates their lives in the village of Nandikolur.

Production[edit]
In September 2018, it was being reported that Shiva Rajkumar was to collaborate with Director Yogaraj Bhat for an untitled film.[7] It was reported that the film was later titled as Kuladalli Keelyavudo.[8] However, there was no official announcements about the same. In 2020, it was reported that Prabhu Deva is being part of the film, which was confirmed by the Bhat himself.[9] Later Priya Anand and Nishvika Naidu were roped into play the lead roles in the film.[10] The film was later titled as Karataka Damanaka.[11][12]
Filming[edit]
The film was majorly shot on outskirts of Bangalore, Kolar, Gauribidanur, and North Karnataka.[12]
Themes and influences[edit]
The title of the film was inspired from characters of Panchatantra.[12]

V. Harikrishna composes music and background score for the film. The first single of the film, Karataka Damanaka Title track, was released on 29 January 2024.[13] The second single, Deega Digari, was released.[14]
